FUNNY FACE

My only regret with these is that there wasn't as much light in the stairwell as I would've liked, so I had to crank up the ISO as my very last resort. These were taken for my an assignment in my photography class—motion. Also the fact that someone noticed that the shoot was reminiscent of Funny Face  made my day (thanks, Allison!). I remember reading in this book what a debacle the white socks were: Audrey didn't want them but the director insisted. My friend Sofie knocked on my door (I had asked her to wear all black) and I just about died from happiness when I saw the white socks. So great.

I liked the idea of the dingy concrete hallway with the organic lines of a dancer. But the fourth photo is the one I turned in. Her legs/arms are parallel to the stairs above her! It also kills me that she can go on pointe in anything (see very first photo): she's wearing toms in all of these. Thanks for all your help, Sofie!!

People Don't SING at College

I've been looking at the calendar and I cannot believe I am moving two thousand miles away in five weeks. P.S. I graduated on the summer solstice and that's a good thing — otherwise, we would've missed that gorgeous sunset in the back of this polaroid. I'm obsessed with the background of this photo. Timing is everything!  (The title of this post is an old SNL reference in case it's ringing any bells...)

Washington DC Day Trip

Today was such a great day. I found out that my future roommate Kayla is in DC and only has a few days left before she heads back out west, so we decided to meet up at the temple and spend the day together. We've been vaguely acquainted as of almost four years ago, but after spending the day together and getting to know each other much better I can't wait to live with her come August! We decided to spontaneously take the metro to Union Station in downtown DC, where we walked around Capitol Hill----it was such a gorgeous day.

Some food trucks almost won us over, but We, The Pizza sounded even better. And it was! I'm telling you, that white pizza in the photo was amazing. I also had a slice of sausage with peppers, but I don't think anything could top that white pizza. Along with the homemade italian sodas, I give it two thumbs up!

Anyway, this spontaneous day trip to DC just made me even more excited for school to start come August. I can't wait!

PS:

Aren't iPhones amazing? The photos in this post, I mean.
