family

the little engine that could, up on high ground to escape the horrible flooding that crested on the third floor of the (my grandparent's) red barn down there.

i love my family. my dad was one of eight children. i cringe when i hear kids at school say "oh, my dad doesn't like that brother" or "i don't really know those cousins.' my heart aches for only chidren. my extended family is crazy, especially when we're all together. and you might just play the most competitive board game of your life in our company. we love pumpkins more than the average person, and we're all really good at hoeing. i wouldn't have it any other way. this weekend i got to see most of them, for sad circumstances, but it was nice to spend it as a family, all together. and i get to see most of them again in nine days, for a wedding this time!
cousins climb a mountain with you.
cousins play in the treeshouse with you
cousins help you write secret notes for your mom
cousins help you convince your grandpa to let you set off the nitro pack on july 4th
certain cousins forced you to watch this movie.
cousins help you out when you get sent to time out.

and how could i write a post on family without an oldschool family reunion picture? all the grandkids.

cousins also sing disney songs at three in the morning with you. just found this gem.
